Carrico joins Philadelphia Union

Kirkwood Soccer Club is pleased to announce the Philadelphia Union signing of another Kirkwood player to their Academy roster.

Mason Carrico has been invited to join the 2003 age group under coach Kevin Coleman at the Union’s state of the art Wayne facility, where the Philadelphia Union High School also resides.

“It is a terrific honor for Mason and a great opportunity for him to train in a professional environment, eventually competing every week against the best players in the country in the United States Development Academy (USSDA)” commented Kirkwood Boy’s coaching director Ian Hennessy.

Carrico now becomes the fourth former Kirkwood player to currently serve on the Union roster, joining Anthony Fontana, Kalil Elmdekhar and Justin Bajek.

“When you have players from Kirkwood push on to a highest level of play in the country, it’s also a time for the coaches in the club to be celebrated. Adam Flanigan does a wonderful job with our young players at Kirkwood and none will be happier than he to see Mason succeed at the Union” Hennessy added.
