The Braves - Johnson won the hit battle 9-5 on Tuesday, but couldn't push enough runs across to get the win, instead losing 5-2 in five innings to the Nationals-Derzis at H6.
The Braves - Johnson were led by Matthew Gray's hitting. Matthew went 2-2 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning. The Nationals-Derzis couldn't get anything going as long as Tristen Jenkins was pitching. Tristen held the Nationals-Derzis hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four. The lead stayed with the Nationals-Derzis after the first, when they scored one run on an RBI single by Matthew Schor. Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped the Braves - Johnson close their deficit to 5-2. An RBI single by Alex Key and an RBI single by Matthew gave the Braves - Johnson life. Jack Roberts ended the inning by getting Ethan Thomas to strike out.
